Introduction to Blue Whales:
Everything about the blue whale is enormous. It is the largest animal on earth, ever. A big blue whale can be 100 feet long and weigh up to 150 tons. Its as huge as a Boeing airplane. Its heart is as large as a small car. Fifty people could stand on its tongue. Its spout shoots up at least 30 feet when it surfaces for air.
It's hard to imagine, but the world's biggest animal eats animals that are less than 1/1000th its size. In order to get enough to eat, a full-grown blue whale might eat 40 million krill in one day!
In order to get that much to eat, a blue whale can expand its throat to take in as much as 50 tons of water in one gulp.
By these information, it gave me the conclusion that blue whales has a huge capacity when it comes to eating and its movement speed is limited.
All about Killer Whales:
This event was dramatically witnessed when a Sea World research vessel, initially tagging swordfish for a migration study, had an encounter with a pod of killer whales attacking a blue whale the largest animal living on our planet today. Such an event had rarely been witnessed and never before photographed. Approximately 30 killer whales assaulted a blue whale. Two killer whales stayed ahead and two lagged behind while others surrounded the blue whale from the sides and underneath in an apparent effort to prevent escape. Some even leaped onto the back of the blue whale in what is believed to be an attempt to drown it. The Sea World vessel watched as the group took turns biting flesh and blubber from their prey. After five hours, the herd broke off their attack. Perhaps the killer whales were resting or they may have had their fill, but the final fate of the severely injured blue whale was not known.
Another rare event, an encounter between a great white shark and killer whales, was recently documented off of Southeast Island near San Francisco, California. Two killer whales were in the area feeding on a California sea lion -- a favored food of great whites. Perhaps the smell of fresh sea lion blood drew the shark to the area, but once one of the killer whales sighted the great white it immediately charged the shark and contacted it under water. The killer whale pulled the 3 to 4 m. Shark to the surface in its mouth and the killer whales consumed sections of the great white such as its enormous liver. This is certainly no indication of what may happen every time killer whales face great whites, but it does demonstrate the variety of a killer whale's diet.
In conclusion, the abilities of the killer whale in our game were set upon these two recorded incidents. The ability to consume any other animals in the game and has a large movement range.
The Lethal killers (Sharks):
Sharks vary greatly in their diets, but they are all carnivores. Some (like the great white, mako, tiger, and hammerhead) are swift predators that eat fish, squid, other sharks, and marine mammals. Some (like the zebra horn shark, angel shark, and wobbegong) are slow-swimming predators that crush and eat shellfish (crabs and clams) from the ocean floor. Others (like the whale shark, the basking shark, and the megamouth) are filter feeders that sieve tiny bits of plankton and small animals from the water as they swim with open mouths. They eat huge amounts of these tiny animals and plants. In conclusion, we came up with the idea, that sharks are able to consume all other animals in our game except killer whales.
The Dolphins:
In the various documentaries we have watched, dolphins have the ability to fend off their predators when they are in a group. Incidents where dolphins that kills their predators like sharks by knocking the sides of the sharks over and over again to break the cartilage of the shark. This is the main factor that let us decide that the ability of the dolphin in our game.
All about Turtles:
Turtles are omnivores and have a huge part of its diet based on plants. However some species of turtles have a mixture of diet of plants and small insects and fish. Due to this factor, we came up with the ability of the turtle in our game. The movement rate of turtles is very slow which also made us to set the movement ability of the turtles in our game.
The Krill:
Krill are shrimp-like marine invertebrate animals. These small crustaceans are important organisms of the zooplankton, particularly as food for baleen whales, Mantas, whale sharks, Crab eater seals and other seals, and a few seabird species that feed almost exclusively on them.
